The quality of this mat is 5 stars. Great for someone wanting to stand more safely in a tub that has poor anti-slip coating.
As has been mentioned, it does have an initial (4-5 days) smell of rubber that's not the most pleasant. But there are worse things, and it's only temporary.
HOWEVER, THE MAIN POINT OF THIS REVIEW, though, is to caution parents that this is uncomfortable for babies to sit on. Our son (8 months) likes to crawl and splash as we bathe him, and within minutes of his first bath, he found the edge of the tub where this doesn't reach and only sat there for the rest of the bath. The next bath he did the same, only more quickly. His knees and bum were red from moving/rubbing along this mat as it has tiny anti-slip nubs that--to and adult foot is trivial--but to sensitive baby skin, it's quite rough/irritating.
I'd give this 2 stars if used for a baby.

This is the first product review I've ever written, but I just had to say that this is a fantastic product. I've used it every day since last December (over 4 months) and am so happy with my purchase!
This mat is made of all-natural rubber: No exposing my toddler to the toxic chemicals found in some mats.
It's 3-feet long: We have an older bathtub (i.e. small) and it covers most of the tub. I think it would still cover over half of a "regular" sized tube.
It's sturdy: Because it's made of rubber, it feels more substantial than plastic bathtub mats. I can't imagine what it would take to ruin this mat!
It stays clean: We live in a tropical area and our bathroom is always humid, but I have yet to have an issue with mildew with this mat (as opposed to others that get icky within days). The packaging notes that, if needed, you could put it in the washing machine.
And most importantly, it REALLY sticks!: It's lined with suction cups on the bottom and it really stays put. (Every "dot" you see in the photo has a suction cup underneath). You don't have to mess with it to get it to stick, either, just throw it in the tub & you're set. I never have to worry about it slipping around when my toddler insists on standing up in the bath.
As another reviewer noted, it did smell a little strong when first opened, but after a day it wasn't noticeable with ours.
The quality is so much better than every other mat we've tried. I highly recommend it!

I bought this mat thinking it was a good natural alternative for my baby. I contacted the company to ask which plant the natural rubber was derived from since it's labeled "latex-free" and the natural rubber is from a plant called Guayule, which you can run a search on for more info if you're curious. The company representative had to ask the rubber supplier because they didn't have the product details on hand. I had read reviews complaining about the "rubber smell" prior to purchasing and when the mat arrived I instantly recognized the smell as that of synthetic rubber, not natural rubber--kind of like rubber tires. I contacted the company again and was indeed informed that the mat is 70% synthetic (petroleum-based) rubber and only 30% natural rubber. The mat works well, but I think that it has been unfairly advertised as "natural" when it is clearly mostly synthetic and consumers should be made aware of the green-washing.
